Job Description
Wisma AI is seeking an Applied LLM Researcher to join our technical team working on real-world problems in policy, finance, and public safety. You will play a critical role in evaluating large language models (LLMs) for specialized use cases—ranging from media intelligence to financial document analysis applications.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands both the cutting edge of foundation models and the real-world constraints of deployment (accuracy, latency, data sensitivity, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate LLMs (open-source and commercial) for client-specific applications.
Design LLM pipelines for tasks such as summarization, classification, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and structured extraction.
Conduct benchmarking and ablation studies to guide model and tool selection.
Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and domain experts to select appropriate models to comply with real-world constraints.
Stay abreast of the latest developments in LLMs, embeddings, multi-modal systems, and alignment techniques—and assess their applicability to Wisma AI use cases.
Support AI governance and safety discussions with empirical insights (e.g., hallucination rates, bias measurement).
What We're Looking For
Solid understanding of modern LLM techniques and models.
Experience with LLM tooling ecosystems such as LangChain, Hugging Face, OpenAI, and/or vector DBs (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
Fluency in Python and libraries.
Familiarity with prompt or context engineering, evaluation methods, and retrieval techniques.
Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to work across technical and policy domains.
Bonus: Experience with multilingual NLP or speak multiple languages.
What We Offer
Exposure to cutting-edge AI tools and media analysis techniques.
The opportunity to work with a dynamic team in an innovative and rapidly growing company.
Mentorship and career development opportunities.
A collaborative work culture that values creativity and learning.
